Request reconsideration of an overseas-treatment decision

DHA offers UAE nationals reconsideration of a rejected overseas-treatment committee request through Shefaa on the DHA website. Submit the reconsideration request within 30 days of the first application, as the published service limitation states, and include a new medical report if available. Do not assume that a new 30-day period starts when the rejection arrives; confirm your application dates with DHA. The application service is free. The page’s round-the-clock availability does not mean an immediate committee decision, and reconsideration does not guarantee overseas treatment or funding.

Request supporting letters for DHA overseas treatment

DHA’s overseas-treatment letter service is for UAE nationals using Shefaa. It covers supporting letters such as medical-visa letters, to-whom-it-may-concern letters, and letters connected with airport transfer or arrival. The published checklist includes the escort’s Emirates ID and passport; an expired passport is a listed limitation. Choose the required letter through the DHA website’s Shefaa service and confirm the case-specific documents. A supporting letter is not a visa, an immigration decision or a guarantee of treatment approval.

Apply to DHA for treatment abroad

DHA’s overseas-treatment application is for UAE nationals with a Dubai-issued passport. The published checklist includes the insurance card, passport, Emirates ID and a current medical report issued no more than 30 days earlier. Apply through Shefaa on the DHA website or DubaiNow. The service lists a passport issued outside Dubai, treatment available locally and an outdated medical report as limitations. The application service is free. DHA’s committee decides the request; the chatbot cannot confirm personal eligibility, medical necessity, destination, funding or approval.
